Then a woman, who was ill with a flow of blood for twelve years, came behind Him and touched the hem of His garment.
For she said within herself, “If I may just touch His garment, I shall be healed.”
But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her, He said, “Daughter, be of good comfort. Your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well instantly.
As Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!”
When He entered the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?”
They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.”
Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith, let it be done for you.”
And their eyes were opened, and Jesus strictly commanded them, saying, “See that no one knows of it.”
Then scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem came to Jesus, saying,
“Why do Your disciples violate the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.”
But He answered them, “Why do you also violate the commandment of God by your tradition?
For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’
But you say, ‘Whoever shall say to his father or his mother, “What you would have profited from me is a gift to God,”
will be free from honoring his father or his mother.’ So you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.
You hypocrites, Isaiah well prophesied of you, saying:
‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips,
but their heart is far from Me.
In vain they do worship Me,
teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.’”
He called the crowds and said to them, “Hear and understand:
That which goes into the mouth does not defile a man, but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”
Then His disciples came and said to Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees were offended after they heard this saying?”
But He answered, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.
Leave them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into the ditch.”
Then Peter said to Him, “Explain this parable to us.”
Jesus said, “Are you also still without understanding?
Do you not yet understand that whatever enters at the mouth goes into the stomach and is cast out into the sewer?
But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile the man.
For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual immorality, thefts, false witness, and blasphemies.
These are the things which defile a man. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.”
Then Jesus went from there and departed into the regions of Tyre and Sidon.
There, a woman of Canaan came out of the same regions and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David. My daughter is severely possessed by a demon.”
But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and begged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.”
But He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
Then she came and worshipped Him, saying, “Lord, help me.”
But He answered, “It is not fair to take the children’s bread and to throw it to dogs.”
She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.”
Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, great is your faith. Let it be done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed instantly.
Jesus departed from there, and passed by the Sea of Galilee, and went up on a mountain and sat down there.
Great crowds came to Him, having with them those who were lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and placed them down at Jesus’ feet, and He healed them,
so that the crowds wondered when they saw the mute speak, the maimed made whole, the lame walk, and the blind see. And they glorified the God of Israel.
Then Jesus called His disciples to Him and said, “I have compassion on the crowd, because they have remained with Me now for three days and have nothing to eat. I will not send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”
His disciples said to Him, “Where will we get enough bread in the wilderness to feed such a great crowd?”
Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?”
And they said, “Seven and a few little fish.”
He commanded the crowd to sit down on the ground.
He took the seven loaves and the fish, gave thanks, broke them, and gave them to His disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowd.
They all ate and were filled. And they collected seven baskets full of the broken pieces that were left.
Those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children.
He sent the crowd away, and got into the boat, and went to the region of Magdala.
At the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb.
And then there was a great earthquake. For the angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone from the door and sat on it.
His countenance was like lightning, and his garments white as snow.
The soldiers shook for fear of him and became like dead men.
The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid. For I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified.
He is not here. For He has risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Then go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead, and indeed, He is going before you to Galilee. There you will see Him. Listen, I have told you.”
So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.
As they went to tell His disciples, suddenly Jesus met them, saying, “Greetings!” They came and took hold of His feet and worshipped Him.
Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go tell My brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.”
While they were going, indeed, some of the soldiers went into the city and described to the chief priests everything that had happened.
When the chief priests were assembled with the elders and had taken counsel, they gave much money to the soldiers,
saying, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came by night and stole Him away while we were sleeping.’
If this comes to the governor’s ears, we will satisfy him and keep you secure.”
So they took the money and did as they were instructed. And this saying has been commonly reported among the Jews to this day.
Then the eleven disciples went away to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them.
When they saw Him, they worshipped Him. But some doubted.
Then Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Jesus said, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
In the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots.
Peter, calling to remembrance, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.”
Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God.
For truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says.
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you will receive them, and you will have them.
As Jesus went to Jerusalem, He passed between Samaria and Galilee.
As He entered a village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood at a distance.
They lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”
When He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.
One of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned with a loud voice glorifying God,
and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.
Jesus said, “Were not the ten cleansed? Where are the nine?
Were there not any found to return and give glory to God except this foreigner?”
Then He said to him, “Rise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”
As He was drawing near Jericho, a certain blind man sat along the way begging.
Hearing a crowd passing by, he asked what it meant.
They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.
He cried out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Those who went in front rebuked him, so that he would keep quiet. But he cried out much more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Jesus stood and commanded him to be brought to Him. When he came near, He asked him,
“What do you want Me to do for you?”
He said, “Lord, grant that I may receive my sight.”
Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight. Your faith has saved you.”
Immediately he received his sight and followed Him, glorifying God. When all the people saw it, they gave praise to God.
In Lystra there sat a man, crippled in his feet, who had never walked and was lame from birth.
He heard Paul speaking, who looked intently at him and perceived that he had faith to be healed
and said with a loud voice, “Stand upright on your feet.” And he jumped up and walked.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
For by it the men of old obtained a good report.
By faith we understand that the universe was framed by the word of God, so that things that are seen were not made out of things which are visible.
By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain offered. Through this he was approved as righteous, with God testifying concerning his gifts. He still speaks through his faith, though he is dead.
By faith Enoch was taken to heaven so that he would not see death. He was not found, because God took him away. For before he was taken, he had this commendation, that he pleased God.
And without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.
