And behold, a woman who had been suffering with a hemorrhage twelve years approached from behind and touched the edge of his cloak,
for she said to herself, “If only I touch his cloak I will be healed.”
But Jesus, turning around and seeing her, said, “Have courage, daughter! Your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed from that hour.
And as Jesus was going away from there, two blind men followed him, crying out and saying, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!”
And when he came into the house, the blind men approached him, and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.”
Then he touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be done for you.”
And their eyes were opened, and Jesus sternly warned them, saying, “See that no one finds out.”
Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem, saying,
“Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat a meal.”
So he answered and said to them, “Why do you also break the commandment of God because of your tradition?
For God said, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and ‘The one who speaks evil of father or mother must certainly die.’
But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or his mother, “Whatever benefit you would have received from me is a gift to God,”
need not honor his father,’ and you make void the word of God for the sake of your tradition.
Hypocrites! Isaiah correctly prophesied about you saying,
‘This people honors me with their lips,
but their heart is far, far away from me,
and they worship me in vain,
teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”
And summoning the crowd, he said to them, “Hear and understand:
It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth—this defiles a person.”
Then the disciples came and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”
And he answered and said, “Every plant that my heavenly Father did not plant will be uprooted.
Let them! They are blind guides of the blind. And if the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.”
But Peter answered and said to him, “Explain this parable to us.”
But he said, “Are you also still without understanding?
Do you not understand that everything that enters into the mouth goes into the stomach and is evacuated into the latrine?
But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these defile the person.
For from the heart come evil plans, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, abusive speech.
These are the things that defile a person. But eating with unwashed hands does not defile a person!”
And departing from there, Jesus went away to the region of Tyre and Sidon.
And behold, a Canaanite woman from that district came and cried out, saying, “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely possessed by a demon!”
But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came up and asked him, saying, “Send her away, because she is crying out after us!”
But he answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
But she came and knelt down before him, saying, “Lord, help me!”
And he answered and said, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs!”
So she said, “Yes, Lord, for even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”
Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, your faith is great! Let it be done for you as you want.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.
And departing from there, Jesus went along the Sea of Galilee, and he went up on the mountain and was sitting there.
And large crowds came to him, having with them the mute, blind, lame, crippled, and many others, and they put them down at his feet, and he healed them.
So then the crowd was astonished when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled healthy, and the lame walking, and the blind seeing, and they praised the God of Israel.
And Jesus summoned his disciples and said, “I have compassion on the crowd, because they have remained with me three days already and do not have anything to eat, and I do not want to send them away hungry lest they give out on the way.”
And the disciples said to him, “Where in this desolate place can we get so much bread that such a great crowd could be satisfied?”
And Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” So they said, “Seven, and a few little fish.”
And commanding the crowd to recline for a meal on the ground,
he took the seven loaves and the fish and after he had given thanks, he broke them and began giving them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds.
And they all ate and were satisfied, and they picked up what was left over of the broken pieces, seven baskets full.
Now those who ate were four thousand men, in addition to women and children.
And after he sent away the crowds, he got into the boat and went to the region of Magadan.
Now after the Sabbath, at the dawning on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to view the tomb.
And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came up and rolled away the stone and sat down on it.
Now his appearance was like lightning and his clothing white as snow.
And the guards trembled from the fear of him and became like dead men.
But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
He is not here, for he has been raised, just as he said. Come, see the place where he was lying.
And go quickly, tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead, and behold, he is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there.’ Behold, I have told you.”
And they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
And behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him.
Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid! Go tell my brothers that they should go to Galilee, and there they will see me.”
And while they were going, behold, some of the guard of soldiers went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened.
And after they had assembled with the elders and had taken counsel, they gave a rather large sum of money to the soldiers,
telling them, “Say ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him while we were sleeping.’
And if this matter is heard before the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.”
So they took the money and did as they were told, and spread abroad this report among the Jews until this very day.
So the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated for them.
And when they saw him, they worshiped him, but some doubted.
And Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the age.”
But Jesus said to him, “If you are able! All things are possible for the one who believes!”
And as they passed by early in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots.
And Peter remembered and said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has withered!”
And Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God!
Truly I say to you that whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea!’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.
For this reason I say to you, whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received it, and it will be done for you.
And it happened that while traveling toward Jerusalem, he was passing through the region between Samaria and Galilee.
And as he was entering into a certain village, ten men met him—lepers, who stood at a distance.
And they raised their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”
And when he saw them he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And it happened that as they were going, they were cleansed.
But one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice.
And he fell on his face at his feet, giving thanks to him. And he was a Samaritan.
So Jesus answered and said, “Were not ten cleansed? And where are the nine?
Was no one found to turn back and give praise to God except this foreigner?”
And he said to him, “Get up and go your way. Your faith has saved you.”
Now it happened that as he drew near to Jericho, a certain blind man was sitting on the side of the road begging.
And when he heard a crowd going by, he inquired what this meant.
And they told him, “Jesus the Nazarene is passing by.”
And he called out, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
And those who were in front rebuked him, that he should be silent, but he cried out even more loudly, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
So Jesus stopped and ordered him to be brought to him. And when he approached, he asked him,
“What do you want me to do for you?” And he said, “Lord, that I may regain my sight.
And Jesus said to him, “Regain your sight! Your faith has saved you.”
And immediately he regained his sight and began to follow him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.
And in Lystra a certain man was sitting powerless in his feet, lame from birth, who had never walked.
This man listened while Paul was speaking. Paul, looking intently at him and seeing that he had faith to be healed,
said with a loud voice, “Stand upright on your feet!” And he leaped up and began walking.
Now faith is the realization of what is hoped for, the proof of things not seen.
For by this the people of old were approved.
By faith we understand the worlds were created by the word of God, in order that what is seen did not come into existence from what is visible.
By faith Abel offered to God a greater sacrifice than Cain, by which he was approved that he was righteous, because God approved him for his gifts, and through it he still speaks, although he is dead.
By faith Enoch was taken up, so that he did not experience death, and he was not found, because God took him up. For before his removal, he had been approved as having been pleasing to God.
Now without faith it is impossible to please him, for the one who approaches God must believe that he exists and is a rewarder of those who seek him.
And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins he will be forgiven.
