A friend loveth at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity.
A man that hath friends must show himself friendly:
and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart:
so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.
Iron sharpeneth iron;
so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
And the Scripture was fulfilled which saith,
Abraham believed God,
and it was imputed unto him for righteousness:
and he was called the Friend of God.
