Keep and hear all these words which I command thee that it may go well with thee and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the Lord thy God.
Only be thou strong and very courageous that thou mayest keep and do according to all the law, which Moses my slave commanded thee; turn not from it to the right hand or to the left that thou may be prospered in all the things that thou doest.
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night that thou may keep and do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shalt make thy way to prosper, and then thou shalt understand everything.
See that I command thee to be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed; for I, the Lord thy God, am with thee wherever thou goest.
¶ Thy spoken word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.
¶ Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes.
¶ With my lips I have declared all the judgments of thy mouth.
I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies as above all riches.
I will meditate in thy precepts and consider thy ways.
I will delight myself in thy statutes; I will not forget thy words.
¶ Deal bountifully with thy slave that I may live and keep thy word.
¶ Open my eyes, and I shall behold the wonders of thy law.
¶ Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my way.
¶ Blessed is he that reads and those that hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written therein, for the time is at hand.
¶ My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my words.
Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
For they are life unto those that find them and medicine to all their flesh.
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.
Search the scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life; and they are those who testify of me.
For the things that were written beforehand were written for our instruction that we, through patient endurance and through the comfort of the scriptures, might have hope.
And also if anyone contends in public contest, he is not crowned, except he contends legitimately.
